Uber Launches Electric Scooter Service

There's a fairly new form of transportation that is slowly starting to take off, well not literally. It's Electric scooters.  Electric scooters may not be the fastest way to travel, but they don't require any gas and they work well for small local trips.  One of the most popular scooter-share companies is "Bird"; there are many others, however, such as Lime, Bolt, Skip, and more. Uber has finally decided to try its hand in the electric scooter game by launching its service in Santa Monica. Through the Uber app, users are able to reserve a jump scooter and scan to unlock using a QR code. Uber's scooter service, unlike many of the ones that are out now, have specially designated spots where the scooters are parked at. Pricing is $1 USD to unlock the scooter and 15 cents per minute of use (although the scooters will be free until October 7th). Let's see if this electric scooter service will expand across the country.
