If you haven't been following hip-hop news lately, rapper Tru Life from LES New York is finally out of prison. After serving 8 years he's out and he has big plans to take the rap game by storm. He recently gave the Sway in the Morning show a visit to discuss prison life, his relationship with Future and Jay-Z, and plenty other issues (he even spits some long awaited bars). Tru Life's transformation coming out of prison is an interesting one; he went in being known as a hip-hop goon and he's come out with a completely different outlook. He claims you can't be a rapper and a gangster; "none of these rappers are gangstas". It's great to see that Tru Life is in a great space in his life, has a more positive track, and is still keeping it Tru. Check out the interview below, as well as his new hit single "Bag for It".
