The MS Tûranor PlanetSolar is the largest solar-powered boat ever created. It's size is not all for show though, this boat is very functional and has been up and running since 2010. The boat even completed a 585 day trip around the world, sailing through places like Venice, Paris, London, and New York City. 200 solar panels cover the top of the boat and power the boat to have an average speed of around 5 knots. After seeing the world, the boat has now been donated to the Race for Water Foundation. They now use the ship as a laboratory for scientific missions to raise awareness about alternative energy solutions. Watch the huge boat in action below in a video that Tech Insider put together.
