Piotr Małachowski from Poland won a silver medal in the discus throw in this years Olympics. Instead of holding on to this prized possession, he did a very selfless act. Upon receiving an urgent email from a mother from Poland, he felt the need to help. The mother asked him to help her son who was battling with a rare form of eye cancer.
Piotr decided to sell his silver medal in order to get enough money to fly the child to the United States and get medical attention. This amazing act is proof that good people still exist!
