New Balance to Release First 3D Printed Running Shoe

In November 2015, New Balance announced they would innovate a new shoe that challenges top competitors like Nike and adidas. They created the first ever 3d-printed running shoe, called the "Zante Generate," which releases on April 15th. The company has been utilizing 3d-printing lately to develop some customized products for their athletes for a number of years. Their collaboration with 3D Systems and their newly developed DuraForm Flex TPU provides the midsole of the shoe, which maintains an optimal balance of flexibility, strength, weight, and durability. The flexible midsole can be seen with hundreds of small open cells that provide cushioning and structure to the shoe.
