Top 5 Upcoming Rappers Who Can Produce

Many have dabbled in the art of producing, but few have been successful at it. Even more have entered the realm of rap, but few have succeeded in becoming lyrical monsters.  Being able to master both rapping and producing is a talent that few possess and should be recognized.  We know of the greats; Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, RZA and more, but today we recognize some of the young upcoming artists who are on the path of greatness.  Check out our list below of Top 5 Upcoming Rappers Who Can Produce below.

1. J. Cole- J. Cole's last album went platinum, he had an HBO special, and he is one of the most respected lyricists in the game right now.  What many people seem to forget is that he also a producer.  In fact, most of his greatest pieces have been produced by himself.  The mixtapes that brought him to stardom, as well as his recent albums include mostly his own production.  Let's not forget he has produced for other stars such as Kendrick, Pusha, and even Kanye.

2. Travi$ Scott- La Flame is literally on fire right now.  You can't mention hip-hop now without mentioning this guy.  Like Cole, most people overlook the fact that he can produce.  He has a great ear for melodies, but he also can make some fire beats that will have your ear drums shaking for weeks.

3. Big Krit-  K.R.I.T. is slept on in all aspects of music.  Right now, when people think of southern hip-hop, they think of Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti, and Future.  Krit is the golden child who has followed in Andre 3000's footsteps.  He's studied the greats, he's perfected his craft, and yes.. he produces his own songs.

4. Hit-boy- Everybody has heard the song N*ggas in Paris.  Hit-boy made the beat.  He also made Clique, Kendrick's Backseat Freestyle and ASAP Rocky's Goldie . With his recent string of music releases, where he tests out his lyrical ability, one might forget all of the hits he's produced.  He is definitely trying to take the Kanye route; The producer who always had fire beats, but also wants to get recognized for his bars. Time will tell if he will be a lyrical force to be reckoned with.

5. Tunji Ige- 3 words, Ball is Life.  Tunji is an impressive rapper out of Pennsylvania who has dropped some amazing music as well as some pretty dope visuals.  His production, however, is not to be slept on. His samples, drums, and melodies are incredible.  One of his stand-out production efforts is on Ball is Life off of his most recent mixtape The Love Project.
