Futuristic Floating City

French architect, Jacques Rougerie, has designed a huge floating city made to house 7000 people, but not just any people.  This city would house scientists, researchers, and students.  The purpose of the floating city, aptly called The city of Mériens, would be to allow easy access to the ocean for research purposes. Not only does the floating city look really cool, it's also cool for the environment.

The ship is designed to be sustainable, and is a zero waste facility.  In addition, the floating city would run off of renewable marine energy.  The floating research facility is 3,000 feet long and shaped like a manta ray.  If this awesome creation does come to fruition, I'm sure it will be a sight to see.
