14 years ago, Rockstar introduced its third installment to the Grand Theft Auto series. What followed was probably a bigger response than what anyone expected. Grand Theft Auto 3 took the GTA series to another level, with an extremely open environment, more graphic graphics (no pun intended), and living, breathing city. This is the first GTA that felt actually real; so real that it was met with a lot of criticism from parents.
GTA III left the gamer community begging for more, and surely Rockstar delivered with Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. GTA III changed the way open gameplay and crime came together in a game, and set a standard higher than anything else. To this day, GTA V is the top selling game in video game history! Rockstar must be doing something right!
