Superego Saturday: [Up Next] Chey Lanay

This week's Superego Saturday presents the up and coming East Coast female music artist -- Chey Lanay. Hailing from the City of Boston, MA, this talented Femcee possesses quite a versatile style. She can deliver anything from soul music, club bangers, to pure heat for the streets. While the hip-hop/rap industry has become tainted and diluted with basic bars, Chey's music reassures us that lyricism has not become obsolete. Check out the music video below, featuring her remix to the classic Tupac song "Changes":

Chey Lanay started rapping at age seven with a goal to pave her way to the top as one of hip hop’s greatest female emcees. She was inspired by music from her uncle “Fly Ty” of Joint Venture, who released an album titled “It’z Da Joint” on Profile Records in 1993. Sadly he passed the following year, but Chey quickly stepped in to re-light the torch. Among her many feats thus far, she has been featured in publications such as WWS Magazine and Coast 2 Coast. She has performed at venues from Boston, Ma to Miami Fl, and even became the first female to win the 2Racks Rap Contest in Atlanta, GA. Check out her debut mixtape "Hungry For More" that released back in 2012.  Two things for sure, Chey Lanay is definitely #CFADC and #UpNext! Tune into her latest below:
