The Spatial Inefficiency of Automobiles
The general awareness of the harmful effects of gas guzzling automobiles has risen over the past few decades. The production of electric vehicles has increased and many car companies have expressed interest in producing more electric vehicles as opposed to gas vehicles. Another negative effect of automobiles that gets overlooked however is how much space they take up. More and more cars are flooding the streets and it's apparent in the build-up of traffic. In addition, with the increase of bike and bus lanes, there is less and less road space for travelers. Modes of transportation such as bicycles not only take up less space compared to cars but give off no pollution.
