Sonam Wangchuk Creates Artificial Glaciers to Solve Water Shortage Problems

 

 You may not have known that there are water supply issues in the Himalayas, specifically in the Ladakh region of India, but there are.  Due to climate change, the harsh mountain area is experiencing acute water shortages.  Sonam Wangchuk recently received a 2016 Rolex Award for Enterprise because of his amazing engineering work in order to help solve the water shortage problem in Ladakh.  He has created artificial glaciers that funnel water into the necessary areas so that plant life can be grown.  Check out the video below to see a more detailed look at his creations.
