We can't stress enough how important it is for us as a planet to eliminate plastic pollution. For years, plastic waste has been building up since most plastics that are made aren't biodegradable and take up to 1,000 years to decompose. A group of Chilean engineers have created a bag that is completely biodegradable. The Solubag is a water soluble bag made from limestone that completely dissolves in water. The aim of this bag is to replace single-use plastic bags that are used in grocery stores and shops around the world.
The Solubag looks and feels just like a regular plastic bag but dissolves in water without any damage to the environment. They claim its even safe to drink the water that the bag is dissolved in. More than 1 trillion plastic bags are used each year around the world, and these bags either end up in landfills for years or end up in our oceans.
