Recreating Vintage Sexist Ads by Reversing Roles


 It is no secret that our society has been sexist for centuries.  Over the years it has been constantly shown to us that we live in a male-dominated society.  In fact, even in advertisements, these sexist roles are reinforced almost all the time.  Although leaps and bounds have been made recently to combat this, sexism still exists today; sometimes it's subtle and other times not so subtle.  Looking back, however, we can see how vintage ads were so blatantly sexist in how they represented males and females.  In Eli Rezkallah's series entitled "In a Parallel Universe" she explores what these ads would look like if the rolls were reversed.  Check out some of the images below!
