In 1988, Nike coined the slogan "Just Do It", a simple yet powerful phrase.  It is direct but also open for interpretation; what exactly are we doing? Well, on the 30th anniversary of the phrase, Nike makes it clear that you should do whatever it takes to stand up for what's right, even if it seems the world is against you.  They just announced that Colin Kaepernick will be the face of their 30th-anniversary campaign.  Kaepernick, who decided to take a knee during the National Anthem in protest of police brutality, has been facing backlash for the past few years even from President Trump.  The football star also claims he was blackballed from the NFL and even filed a grievance that will go to trial.  Many people thought his kneeling during the anthem was disrespectful and unpatriotic.  It is no surprise that Nike has been facing a lot of heat as well after the announcement, as many people have begun to boycott the brand.  Some have gone as far as to burn and destroy their Nike gear  Others have taken to social media to show their support for both Nike and Colin Kaepernick. Celebrities have been weighing in as well and it's clear this announcement will be the talk of the week and year. Check out a few tweets below from some celebrities in the music industry concerning the announcement.
