Ford Creates the First Ever Hybrid Police Car

Ford currently creates the majority of police cars in America, owning about 63% of the entire market share. Up until now, most of these cars are considered dirty gas guzzling vehicles, as the police force needs big and powerful vehicles to intercept criminals.  Ford has now introduced the Police Responder Hybrid Sedan.  They did this in hopes that cities police departments would decrease pollution and save on fuel.  The Police Responder Hybrid Sedan runs on an Atkinson-cycle 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The hybrid can run on battery-only mode up to 60 mph and gets 38 mpg.  Check out some images of the vehicle below. This is definitely a step in the right direction for the police force and for cleanliness of city air.
