Ex-Gang Members See Themselves Photoshopped Without Tattoos

  Over the years tattoos have become more and more accepted.  Despite some of the negative connotations that come with certain tattoos, society has embraced tattoo culture.  Some tattoos, however, still cause an adverse reaction to many people.  Gang tattoos, particularly those on the face, may invoke negative emotions.  Skin Deep is a project that examines this dynamic.  Skin Deep is a kickstarter campaign that has ex-gang members looking at photoshopped photos of themselves without tattoos.  The results are pretty emotional.  The interviews that follow give insight into how they are looked at on a daily basis.  Check out a preview of project below, and also check out the kickstarter campaign HERE.
