Disappearing Pop-up Bike Racks

City centers are becoming more cluttered with functional objects.  There are hubs to charge your phone, benches, bike racks and more.  It is essential to conserve space as more and more elements are added to city areas.

Industrial product designer and Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Milou Bergs has come up with a way to conserve space for bike racks.  She has created a new pop-up bike rack that "disappears" into the pavement when not in use. The project is called "Align" and Bergs says "At the moment I'm researching and discussing the possibilities. Several municipalities are interested to already start a pilot."

Check out some images of "Align" below!
