Ben & Jerry's Will Stop Using Single Use Plastics in 2019

Ben & Jerry's has become the latest company to join the plastic-free movement.  Slowly, major corporations are starting to realize the dangers of single use plastics and are getting rid of them.  "We're not going to recycle our way out of this problem. We, and the rest of the world, need to get out of single-use plastic." the company said.

Ben & Jerry's hands out 2.5 million straws per year and a whopping 30 million plastic spoons. Starting in April, however, the company will be handing out wooden spoons and paper straws (upon request).  This is a huge move for the company in a positive direction.  We are happy to see Ben & Jerry's making this switch and will continue to report on other companies as they make the switch.
