 For a lot of people, making healthy life choices can be difficult.  Heading to the gym and dieting are very disciplined activities that take time to implement.  If you're looking for some easy tips to start transitioning to a more healthy lifestyle, you've come to the right place.  Check out these 7 easy tips that can help you be more healthy and get you on track to start making some of those more difficult healthy choices.

 

1. Drink More Water!  I know you've probably heard this phrase a MILLION times, but it's true! Drinking water leads to a more healthy life. Drinking water boosts your immune system, gives you energy, reduces headaches, helps skin complexion... I could go on for days on all the benefits of drinking water but just know its a major key to a healthy body.

2. Eat Breakfast Daily!  Eating breakfast helps with weight control.  Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast tend to weigh less than people who skip breakfast.  It may seem like a weird concept that eating more helps regulate your weight, but balanced meals are essential for your metabolism.

3. Get Adequate Sleep! Sleep is very essential.  Most of us try to squeeze as many hours out of the day as possible and end up not getting an adequate amount of sleep.  Studies have shown that adequate sleep has been shown to improve memory and lead to longer life.  How much sleep should the average adult get? About 7-9 hours.

4. Eat Small Meals! As a general rule, you should eat when you feel hungry and stop when you are full. It's important to listen to your body when eating; you don't have to wait for designated times to eat a meal.  Smaller meals are beneficial because they balance out your energy distribution over the course of the day.

5. Get Out More Often! For those that want to make the transition to exercising daily but want to take it slow, simply finding reasons/excuses to leave the house is a great start.  Take a walk to the store, visit a friend, or just take take a walk while listening to music.  Walking is a form of exercise and it doesn't require a lot of physical strain.

6. Hang Out With Healthy People! You are the company you keep.  If you hang out with negative people you'll be negative.  Strive everyday to hang around people who are positive and healthy.  Even if you feel you aren't as healthy as them, simply being around them will influence your life choices.
