Outside the Box: The Works of Kumi Yamashita

 Kumi Yamashita is a Japanese artist that lives and works in NYC.  Her most impressive work (in my opinion) is her experimentation with light and shadows.  She also does amazing pieces crafted using hundreds of nails and a single thread wound around them.  It takes a special kind of artist to have the time and dedication to pull of some of the things she does.  She definitely thinks outside of the box (better yet canvas) when constructing her work.
