Throwback Thursday: Frankie Lymon - Why Do Fools Fall in Love

This week's Throwback Thursday features the 1956 classic hit single "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," by Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. Frankie was only 13 years old when he shocked the world with this pop single. Audience were captivated by both, the topic and his complementing vocals. The common inquiry was, "What does this little boy know about love," but Lil Frankie lived life fast...a little too fast. Franklin Joseph Lymon was only 25 when he died of a heroin overdose in his grandmother's bathroom. Although his life and career was short-lived, the rock and roll/rhythm and blues singer and songwriter has been of great influence to modern-day music culture. Tune into the video below and check out the 1998 romantic drama 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' in which the late Lymon is portrayed by the underrated -- Larenz Tate.
