Sustainable Sunday: Native America NOW

Native Americans are often completely left out of our current politics. Follow the journey of four indigenous Artivists bringing change through their craft in the 20 minute feature 'Rebel Music: Native America' presented by MTV. Check out the trailer and familiarize yourself with the leaders of Rebel Music:

Frank Waln, an award winning hip-hop artist, a Sicangu Lakota from the He Dog community. He currently studies audio arts and acoustics at Columbia College in Chicago.

Inez Jasper is a pop-artist hailing from British Columbia, Canada and she has won six Aboriginal People's Choice Awards bending traditional native sounds with contemporary pop music.

Nataanii is a hip-hop artist of Oglala Lakota, Navajo and Omaha ancestry. Raised in Arizona, Nataanii uses his words to paint powerful pictures in the name of freedom, identity against genocide. 

Witko is a street artist, graphic designer and hip-hop artist, who is a friend and collaborator of Nataanii. Witko has made it his mission to use the arts to expose the poverty and discrimination that has robbed his people of land, resources and identity.
