Fantasy Song Friday: J. Cole x Jay Z- New Roc City
A major question that has been asked repeatedly by J. Cole fans and hip-hop fans in general is, Why doesn't Jay-Z collab with J. Cole more often? Cole himself stated that on his first album Jay-Z didn't get on the song he wanted him to get on (God's Gift), but instead got on Mr. Nice Watch. Personally I think J and Jay can make a more epic song than Mr. Nice Watch; a song that people could talk about for ages. Jay-Z recruited the young star on his Blueprint 3 album for A Star is Born, but J. Cole is older now, smarter, and a better songwriter.
This weeks Fantasy Song Friday puts the two stars on the same track, embracing the relatively new RocNation. As we know, rappers love having crews (Young Money, TDE, ASAP, etc.) The two MC's make a statement on New Roc City, as they throw shots at every other crew. Rocnation has some of the best talent under their umbrella and Jay-Z is not afraid to flaunt it. Let's just hope Hov is open to doing more songs with J. Cole besides this (no shots thrown)...
