Along with the residential complexes being built in the Atlantic Yard by the Barclays Center, a new initiative to create the nations biggest green roof is underway. Interestingly enough, the money will come from foreign sources with the Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC) and Shanghai-based Greenland Group Co. (Greenland) building this out over the next 9 months. This is in an effort to have the Barclays Center achieve Silver LEED status, the measuring stick for sustainability in buildings.
