Reggae Inna Trap House
Last night, Hot Music Pro held its inaugural producer competition in Boston upstairs at the Middle East Lounge. Hosted by Latrell James, 12 producers went head-to-head with their reggae inspired remixes and mashups in front of a panel of three judges with musical backgrounds and industry experience as well as a vibrant audience.
Participants included Evilldewer, H Brookz, Dan Mac, Pulse Fx, Headphaze, Robert Mathis, Wes Mitch, Moduloktopus, Deskhop and more. If you're interested in beats, reach out to the up and coming talent.
Teddy Roxpin was a competitor who stood out but had to go through the winner in the second round.
The winner was HiFadility who faced off against finalist Jon Glass, both with soulful sounds. HiFadility not only controlled the room with his smooth feel-good music but through the use of silence as well. He was the only competitor to actually play the instruments in his own compositions. Check out his recent interview with HITPmusic.com at Mass Apparel to learn more about what he has in store.
All proceeds from the event went to Higg-Lew Leaders, a local initiative to engage seventh and eighth graders after school in civic education and the arts.
